Undercliff is the first novel by Devon based musician/writer Mark Brend. Set in in the early 70s, Undercliff finds everyman Martyn Hope as he joins and then tries to extricate himself from a post-hippie religious group that might not be as benign as he originally thought. Undercliff is an intriguing looking supernatural thriller that moves from south east London to the east Devon coast, it nods to the pursuit novels of Geoffrey Household while exploring themes similar to oddball third Inkling Charles Williams.
Various special edition options are available, including a cassette EP of specially composed/performed music by Brend in his Ghostwriter guise.
